Family Resources

Every family faces a set of unique challenges. Our primary goal is to offer families the support needed to overcome these challenges and help them lead self-sufficient and fulfilling lives.

The Community Closet

The Community Closet is a space where families can access gently used clothing, personal care items, shoes, linens, baby items, books, toys, board games and linens free of charge. Clients may select up to three outfits per family member once every month. We also operate the Diaper Bank distribution as well as provide feminine hygiene products on a monthly basis. Enrollment is required and we’re currently adding to our waitlist. Please call Brittany Lee at 203-368-5523 to inquire.

The Closet is currently in need of spring apparel and large plastic storage containers to store season-specific items, etc.

Location

The Community Closet is located at LifeBridge, 475 Clinton Avenue, Bridgeport CT 06605 and can be reached at 203-368-5624.

! Community Closet Donations

The Community Closet is open to LifeBridge clients to “shop” by appointment only. Please contact us at 203-368-5624 or 203-368-4291 to schedule an appointment.

Donations are accepted Monday – Thursday between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. If interested in volunteer opportunities, please request/complete a volunteer application. On a hygiene and quality note — please consider quality of goods being donated to be in line with those that would be taken to a consignment or resale shop. We appreciate all donations being laundered and dropped off in a way that allows us to make them quickly available to clients. Thank you!

Thank you to the Federation of Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Fairfield County, Dignity Grows and The Undies Project for their support of the Community Closet.
