| LifeBridge Community Services’ mission is to partner with Bridgeport’s youth and families to build resilience. Our vision is that Bridgeport’s youth and families reach their full potential within a stronger community. The LifeBridge Community Services AmeriCorps VISTA project will engage VISTAs in capacity building activities including community outreach, volunteer management, and partnership development in Bridgeport, CT, which has a poverty rate of 22% (compared to the CT statewide poverty rate of 8%). The VISTAs will enhance and expand existing services at the Center for Youth Development. This includes providing family resources like our Community Closet, which provides free clothing to low-income residents as a first step to meeting basic needs required for educational and employment success. A successful candidate will be committed to our mission. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to building teams and creating partnerships.
