Building a trauma-informed and resilient community through training.

Community Resiliency Model (CRM).

The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) is an evidence-based, skills-based training that helps people and communities understand and manage the impact of trauma and chronic stress.

"Trauma comes back as a reaction, not a memory."

– Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk

Adversity is Not Destiny.

CRM focuses on the biology of the human nervous system.

Stressful or traumatic events can impact our minds and bodies. The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) is an evidence-based training that helps individuals understand their nervous systems and how to calm their stress response system to return to a state of well-being called the Resilient Zone through simple wellness techniques. Learning how our brains respond to stress shows that our reactions stem from biology, not weakness.

Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress—such as abuse, neglect, or the accumulated burdens of economic hardship without adequate support.—can significantly affect learning, parenting, and relationships. Toxic stress and trauma can lead to higher absenteeism and lower productivity, especially in the field of human services. However, resilience is possible with the right support.

The CRM focuses on resiliency. When we see troubling behavior, our conventional thinking asks, “What is wrong with that person?” A trauma-informed perspective understands the impact of trauma on development and behavior and asks, “What happened to you?” It is also important to draw attention to resiliency. A resiliency-focused perspective asks, “What are your strengths?” and “What helps you get through hard times?”

CRM training benefits employees, service providers, parents, children, and the general public. We provide this training free of charge.

Training Satisfaction

"Community training on trauma-informed care is not only beneficial to the students we serve but frankly critical to the functioning of our organization. With constantly limited budgets for professional development and not enough time to devote to extended outside learning, the training that LifeBridge provides is crucial to serving our population well. We cannot hope to serve our students academically until we can understand their lives before they come to us. Having our teachers and staff well-versed in trauma-informed care is essential to our success as an organization, and we are so grateful to LifeBridge for the excellent training."
