We acknowledge the link between art and mental health.
Community Mural Club.
As an agency providing culturally responsive services, we seek to build on the existing strengths within our community: Bridgeport has a rich art scene and is home to thousands of artists and creatives. Supporting youth is essential, but it is equally important to create opportunities for youth to be on the giving end of support.
Thank you for your interest! The next Mural Club session is full, and registration is now closed. We hope to see you at future sessions!
Research shows that giving and receiving social support improves psychological well-being.
An imbalance in the support you give and receive can harm your mental health. Feeling helpful to others often leads to lower depression and a greater sense of control. When young people create something beautiful for their community, it boosts their mental and emotional well-being.
Our Mural Club
The Community Mural Club, led by local artist Alicia Cobb, invites Bridgeport middle and high school students interested in visual arts to apply. The club helps students build skills for daily life and connects them with peers. Participants learn teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving while fostering a sense of belonging.
